  • Parking Eye Problem.

Hi all. This is my first post so not sure if I'm doing this right but here goes. So i parked in a parking eye type car park in Byron Street in Coventry last month. I went to the meter to pay. The screen on the meter said 'not in use' so i looked for another pay meter and on that one also it said not in use. I then took a photo on my phone of one of the meters which had on it the location of the meter. So the photo had the location and the not in use bit on it. I received the usual fine through the post for not paying at the meter. The fine was for £42 now or £70 if paid after 14 days of the date of the letter. So i went through their appeal system on their website. I have just received a letter today saying that my appeal was unsuccessful and that i now have another 14 days to pay the £42 fine. By the way, this is a car registered in my wife's name but i was driving, which i am a named driver on the insurance. Because i put in the appeal that i am not the owner but was driving i have received another fine but this time in my name. The original fine was addressed to my wife. My problem is now what is my next move? My wife says just pay the fine but this looks like an absolute con. I look forward to any replies. Thank you for reading.

Unfortunately it is not a con.* Shame you identified the driver.
