  • BMW finance VT final payment

I have voluntary terminated my agreement with BMW via email which they have confirmed they have received today via phone call. They have told me that the payment due on the 16th is already processing and is refundable even though it is not due for another 4 days. In their PDF they sent over explaining the terms for VT the car they state "arrears. It is assumed that any repayment which we are
currently processing will still be paid (in addition to the Termination Payment figure)." I am well past my 50% point so £0 should have been due regardless of the following months payment, it was my understanding that the contract is ended immediately so I cannot see why they should be entitled to keep next months payment. Do I have a leg to stand-on here? they have told me not to cancel the direct debt and I don't want to give myself issues with VT the car by cancelling and then being counted as a missed payment.

Any payments which are not due by the time you terminate are not payable on that date because your obligations to pay the instalments ceased to exist.*

if you let them take the payment that is up to you otherwise you can either try to stop the payment going through or claw it back through the direct debit scheme.

Do be aware that BMW are aggressive when it comes to arrears and they will no doubt threaten you with (and probably follow through) marking your credit file.*

The only real way to stop them is to issue legal proceedings.
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you
