  • Lender won't remove charge on property

Hi, I took out a secured loan for my business, the lender took a charge on my personal property as security. All payments have been paid on time to completion. Total of £140,000. Now the lender wants 10% to remove the charge on my property. What rights do I have?

The contract will define what the lenders rights are. Without seeing a copy of the contract its impossible to say.

id add that if the contract doesnt entitle them to this charge, then they should complete a DS1, and that should then go to the land registry, it ought to be a straight forward process removing the charge, assuming the creditor agrees.
