Solicitors holding large sums of Pensions monies

My partner died 4 years ago and i am enduring a lengthly difficult Inheritance Act Claim for me and my 2 small vulnerable children one whom is disabled. We received a payout of around £150K from his pension providers which my solicitors have had to fight to get us. They have had the monies paid into their accounts and are holding it to use and secure their fees even though this money was paid to me and the children outside the estate ? Is this legal and do they have to pay us interest on the monies and at what rate. I am massively being abused by legal teams and now need legal help to challenge their practice and conduct. Please can someone help or advise*
