  • Dispute with Builder - Debt Collection Agency Involved and Court Claim Threatened

Hi there and thanks in advance to anyone reading this post. I have never posted on a site before so this is all really new to me. Please do let me know if there is a protocol to follow or if I do anything wrong!

We are in an ongoing battle (8 months and counting) with our "ex" builder. We are £20k+ out of pocket and he has £1.5k owing on invoices, that being the balance of our offer to settle and all for a job that was left incomplete, with queries raised throughout the job remaining unanswered. We are currently having to deal with the debt collectors he has employed and their solicitors. It looks like we are fast approaching a court claim. Can anyone direct me to the correct forum to post our story to see if anyone else has had dealings with the firms he has employed, whether we have taken the right action so far, whether he has case against us and if he does how we go about fighting our case? I will post further details once I know the correct forum in which to post them.
