I’m looking for advice. I purchased my home in May 2014. Our solicitor failed to carry out the required Coal mine checks which we found out in the summer of 2017 we instructed a solicitor within 6 months to act on our behalf due to the negligence caused. Our new solicitor has done hardly any work on our case and everything seemed to take so long. It took until 2019 for them to request our house to be valued. This morning I received an email stating because we are coming up to the six year time scale in a negligence case they recommend dealing with the claim in court. I was unaware of these time scales and feel my new solicitor has also acted with negligence. My question is should my current solicitor have filed a case sooner and why have they failed to do so. What information would they have needed to file a complaint? I would like any advice on how to approach the case.*
