I went to take my kids to school this morning to find a clamp on my vehicle. I called the number left on the car and turns out the clamp was enforced by the local authority. I acquired the vehicle on late june 2019 the fines go back as far as 2018. I sent my logbook and certificate of insurance as well as proof of road tax and my drivers license for proof of ID. Despite this, they have said they will remove the car unless I pay £1500 to the enforcement agent.*
They will not listen and I'm completely at a loss. To make matters worse, I am currently fleeing from a violent ex-partner who doesn't know where we have moved to. Terrified to take the kids to school by public transport in fear of being located. The council wouldn't provide the name of the court or any paperwork related to this. I'm at a complete loss. Has anyone gone directly through court? Where should I start?? Are they allowed to do this?
