Hello. My son has received court papers from Cabot for a credit card debt originally with Aqua in 2015. He undoubtedly owes this money to Aqua and now Cabot, but is it possible to try and negotiate a settlement with the solicitor handling this, now that the court claim has been issued or is it too late? The amount being claimed is £1033.99 plus £80 legal costs. The court claim is dated 10th January so time is ticking on the clock from the 15th January. He has lots of other debts from credit cards and payday loans which he just cannot keep up with and he can see no way out of his plight, although I have repeatedly asked him to go to a debt counsellor.
Hello.
