  • PIP Claim due to end before next assessment date, will my payments stop?

    Hello there,

In February 2017 I was awarded the lower rate mobility component of PIP for 3 years, with the claim finishing in February 2020.

In August 2019 I told the DWP about a change in my circumstances (My conditions have worsened) and the forms I received were posted back to them on September 19th 2019.

I have not yet had my assessment and still have no assessment day in sight (I telephone Independent assessment services last Wednesday for any updates and they told me they were still waiting for an available assessment day)

I am quite worried at this stage because as it stands I am only entitled to 1 more payment of PIP which is due on February 3rd.

I am just wondering what happens in the meantime if I still have not had an assessment/decision before my current claim ends? Will they stop my payments and just leave me waiting until the assessment services eventually get around to seeing me?

Any advice would be great, thank you :-)
