  • Can a duty of care be imposed on a child?

In the scenario, school teachers have went up a fast flowing river stream after extreme weather conditions, and have told children to get into pairs even though they recognised the risks. One of the children in the pair's foot got stuck and let go of her partner, which led to him being swept away and drowning. Did she have a duty of care to her partner? Thanks!!

No, the child is blameless.* The teachers and education authority or trust are the one's liable for this tragedy.
