  • Car parking fine.

April this year my husband and I went to Tesco. I have a disabled badge. Previously we had been informed by Tesco staff collecting trolleys when there were no available disabled bay to use a child and parent bay. So with no available disabled bays we used a child and parent bay. My husband was the driver that day and is the registered keeper. I made an appeal against the parking ticket but it was rejected. I gave my name and address on the appeal form. Since then I have received numerous letters but have ignored them. I have now received a letter from SCS Law saying I need to pay within 14 days. do I continue to ignore the letters and go to court or tell them I am not the registered owner or the driver at the time?

    Hi there

totally impossible to advise with only the limited info.

We would need to know what documents you recieved, whether the ticket was on the car or through the post, wheter you have a notice to keeper and whether it was served in time etc. without this info we couldnt advise either way.

However, NEVER EVER EVER ADMIT TO BEING THE DRIVER,
I work for Roach Pittis Solicitors. I give my free time available to helping other on the forum and would be happy to try and assist informally where needed. Edit your post so that the identity of the driver cannot be inferred. You were a passenger in the car, you do not have to name the driver. Yes tell them that you were not the driver at the time, nor are you the registered keeper. Short letter, do not expand. Any letter they now send to the keeper is out of time.

Have you contacted Tesco to complain? Talk to the manager, the Equality Act applies as you have a bluebadge.
