  • Asda ban

Hi I bought some items from asda couple of weeks ago and had a refund.. They did not mark the receipt.. I did a very daft thing and am quite embarrassed now.. Went back took the same items for refund, they clocked on and caught it on cctv.. I was given a year ban, no details etc taken and did not sign anything* they told me that my image will be shared with other asda stores*

Not sure what comments you are looking for.
No police involvement, no details taken but they intend to pass your photo around their stores.
At least you have a smidgen of fame!*
I doubt anything else will happen.

Regarding the ban, if you are recognised in their store all they can do is ask you to leave, and if necessary use a reasonable amount of force to eject you, provided you are not committing a crime.

Hi in my exclusion letter it states news/media exposure for any conviction results in future conduct, what does that mean. As far as I was told matter is dealt with with ban.. Does rhus mean if I do it again they can expose me*

Your quote is a little unclear, but I suspect they are saying that if you are caught doing it again there could be criminal charges brought on a magistrates court , which could result in the case being reported in the local newspapers (hardly likely to reach the nationals!).
Perhaps you could post up that letter (first remove any identifying details) so it can be checked

To be honest I threw it away as it had no details of mine only security officers name, store etc..No police was called... But it did say as I have located it states ::::News/"Media Exposure.. Media information identifying you and your activities should also be expected if any criminal conviction against you relating to Asda stores results from future conduct.....*

Am I just worrying unnecessary.. As like I said no details given , nothing signed, no police called, all security said gonna let all stores know you are banned and they will have a pic of you as you will not be allowed in.. .. Just got to get over it and move on now.*

So all they were threatening was if at some future date you should be detected committing any* criminal activity in their premises it might go to magistrates court and that might mean the case would be published in local papers.

So they circulate your picture (one of hundreds possibly), it is glanced at and then ignored.
Chances of anyone recognising you if you enter a store is remote, and if they do all they can do is ask you to leave, as long as you are not acting criminally. If you refuse they can then use sufficient force to eject you

No need to worry, as long as you are not a career criminal!
