  • How to write a defence statement - court case with Mercedes Benz VT, excess mileage

I refused to pay the excess mileage on my vehicle following VT and followed the advice on this forum. The case is now due to go to court and I have to write a defence statement and send it to the solicitor within 14 days (as of last Thursday the 31st) so by 13th of November they have to receive it. Outlining why I am not liable to pay the excess mileage charges following VT of my vehicle. I have now idea as to how to approach doing this, I have drafted something which I'd like support with to make it into an effective defence statement. I'm also due to appear in court in January (date TBC) and the solicitor has warned that I have no real chance of success. I'm finding the whole process really difficult and I'd like to engage a solicitor to represent me, does anyone know how I would begin by identifying one that specialises in this area?

    Any support is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Roz Thornton

Hello, just wondering what the outcome of this was? Wondering whether I am able to challenge excess mileage charges or not? Thank you*
