  • Guarantor loan

I am a guarantor for a friends loan. The friend defaulted and I was not in a position to pay the full monthly repayment so I now have a CCJ to pay £100 a month based on my income. The loan company are now saying I have to pay more a month as at the current payment will take too long. They have said that they will make claim on my property if I am unable to pay more. I have checked the agreement and I cannot see anything on there that suggests they are able to do that. Advice please.

It said that I am now liable to pay the full amount of the loan. The loan company accepted my offer of £100 per month which I thought would be until it was paid off or would change if I earned more.

I should have added that I was expected to pay the full amount immediately, but the loan company accepted my offer of 100 per month. I just checked and it did say for 6 months then it would be reviewed against my earnings, which have not changed.
