  • Never received a penalty notice

My daughter failed to obtain a parking ticket on two consecutive days at a train station car park, kids she travels into London everyday but somehow forgot on these two days, about 6 weeks later she received two debt collectors letters asking her for £170 for each ticket, I rang immediately to challenge this, they sent proof that she had parked there, I wasn’t disputing this, but they would. It offer up the opportunity to pay the original parking fine, it has. Ow been passed to a solicitor, I’m. To disputing she parked there I’m disputing the fact we never received the parking fine through the post, they can not prove posting only saying that it says on their system it was sent out. Would really like some advice.
    many thanks,

The general point is that service is normally ascertained by posting the documents to an address, and as long as this can be evidenced, then the service would be regarded as good. You would then need to demonstrate it was not received.

Who is the penalty charge from ?
