I believe, that just as in England, that is the time within which a summary case has to be first laid at the court, after that the case takes as long as the courts take.

The Scottish procedure may share time scales but it is an entirely separate legal system so it has its own quirks. If it's outside the legal time limit however then they could not prosecute.
You need to contact the court or procurator fiscal to see what's happening with the case.

Or don't contact the Procurator until after 6 months have elapsed, perhaps? It's possible that this has been placed on the 'not terribly important, so we will deal with this if we get a bit of spare time' pile. If so, they'll probably never get round to it, UNLESS you stir things up by contacting them.

2222 i am just asking if you know how long it has with the prosecutor's fiscal team to take a case to sheriff court in Scotland. I have been charged with wasting police time 4 months ago but no update after that I tried to chase with the crown but still, they say that it's with markup department they have not marked my case yet. So wondering how long it will take to decide on case to go to court or not after being charged with crime
