Voluntary termination Hp agreement

Hi looking for advice regarding voluntary termination of car finance on HP. My initial letter/email has been declined as they say my agreement was terminated in Jan 18 due to defaults but I still have the vehicle and cleared the default. They now say I can voluntary surrender which I don't want to do. The finance company is Blue Motor Finance. Are they within there rights to decline my proposal to voluntary terminated my agreement. Any help much appreciated thanks Mick
