Hi, I'm a claimant in a money claim listed for a hearing in an English County Court soon, allocated to the small claims track. My claim is that I purchsed goods from a trader which were not of satisfactory quality; I'm claiming the purchase price, the (capped) costs of bringing the claim, interest and consequential costs. My question relates to the latter. The 'goods' are a horse. The consequential costs are veterinary fees and essential horse care costs. I can't determine whether the consequential costs are allowable...I've found conflicting but unreferenced advice online and can find no clear answer in the practice directions. If they are not allowed under the small claims track, as I'm at the upper limit, I could ask to be transfered to the fast track.
