  • Neighbours garden

Hi my neighbours garden is overgrown with nettles. Each year I complain and they just chop them down but it doesn't solve the issue as they grow back. The nettles have now grown all over my 6ft fence. One of the fence panels has bellowed in the middle from all the nettles there side growing up it. I have nettles growing through my first tree,, nettles coming under my fence onto my side and nettles all growing through my new fence panels. Is there anything legally I can do to make then tidy up their garden?

    Weeds, Rubbish and Pests

If weeds or brambles and the like in a neighbour’s garden are causing problems on your side of the property boundary, it can amount to a nuisance which you can report to the Environmental Health Department of your local council who can pursue legal action. More information can be found in the Weeds Act 1959.
