  • Private parking charge and bailiff letter

i got a parking ticket in a private car park outside where I work as it was claimed I was parked in the wrong section of the car park, this was back in September 2017. The ticket was from solution labs/ regent parking.

i just ignored the correspondence at the time and after being sent 3 letter which I never responded these, in fact I haven’t got a copy of any of the information.

I hadn’t heard anything until today when I got mail from a bailiff dcbl asking for £160 to settle and for me to contact them, albeit it’s stated that the case isn’t at present subject to high court or bailiff action!

    what should I do?

Well you can now see what happens when letters about parking are now ignored. At least they are just using DCBL as Debt Collectors but the fear is the parking company may do Court next and the ball game changes as ignoring that could result in a CCJ against you. As to what to do do you have a defence to their claims?

Sorry PLODDERTOM, thanks for your response I couldn’t login yesterday so posted the message as a guest!

my car was parked outside our office on a private business park in Enfield and I hadn’t realised that I would get a ticket for parking in the area where I did, albeit there were signs displayed. The company I worked for had limited spaces but these had been taken.

Do do I have any grounds to now challenge after all this time or should I just pay the ticket?

Personally I wouldn't. As said DCBL are only debt collectors in this instance and don't know whether the parking company have ever done Court previously..

I have attached a copy of the sign in the car park but don’t have a copy the ticket, this was issued over two year ago, I have never responded to the company!
