Shoplifting tkmaxx

Hi!

I got a fine for stealing in tkmaxx. I feel terribly sorry about it... I can't stop thinking about it. But the biggest problem is that it was not first time. I was doing it before. Now I'm terrified that they will check cameras and see I did this before. Can they call a police and make investigation?

You didn't get a fine, you got a request for money because a company is pretending they had a loss.

They are not likely to go through CCTV footage looking for you at some other indeterminate time. Looking through CCTV is a real pain even when you know what you are looking for.

Hence it is very unlikely there will be police involvement

Now that you gave been caught then don't do it again. The next time they will not be so lenient

Hi Ostell! Thank u for ur answer. Actually I got a fine police was called. It was not in UK but in my country there is no forums like this so I search for help here.
police was called they gave me a fine I paid for items I stole as well
I'm just worried if they can check cameras from days before and make investigation.
i feel very bad about this.. I even gave some donations for sick kids because I don't know what else I can do to recompansate...I learned my lesson.
I just don't want my parents to find out about this and I'm wondering if the police can send letters. I don't live in my country so all mail goes to my parents place.

Just because the police were called in doesn't mean it was a fine. Who is asking for the money?

Yes I did...I shoplifted in my country. Yes I got a fine from police which I paid immediately

So can they check cameras and make an investigation with a police? Im afraid big time. I don't know what to do. I can't sleep, I think about it constantly....

Which is your country of residence?
In which country were you caught and fined?
Are you concerned about previous incidents which might have been caught on CCTV in that country?

No matter where you are the chances of anyone trawling through hours of CCTV recordings in the off chance they will spot you shoplifting must be
zero.

I was in TK Maxx last Friday, I tried few jackets and suddenly i heard sound of alarm of car so clink in my mind that it’s my car and I was just get out from TK Maxx to check my car as I park my car near the entrance but few people around there so I can’t see my car and I have to get out little more 3 meter away from TX Maxx entrance and suddenly Security follow me and said you have not paid for this jacket. ( approx £24.99 ) I said yes I just came out to check my car.

then after he took me to his office at 18:00 and ask for my ID, I present my driving licence then he call 101 for police. Police give him CAD number and said we will be there in 45 minutes. Police did not turned up until 20:15

Security hold me there until 20:25 then he said I am releasing you and TK Maxx will send you a latter at your door in next 7 days.

In this timeframe he told me that you did big crime by changing tags of goods and return and gain profit in last one year time. Which I have to prove.

Security said you can get away with current case but you will get big punishment for what you did in store in last one year. I have all CCTV footage and will find more and more.

I did return because of change of mind, size problem. Fitting rooms were not available due to COVID. There is so many problems when purchase goods from TK MAXX, most of cloths has problem with size and items not functioning properly. Are they bring all items from OUTLETS old fashion clearance stock ???????

I purchase and visiting same store from last 5-6 years, I purchased a lot means a lot in store and online. I purchased in these years over £10,000/- I have all emails of online orders and as a member so many store receipt on Treasure account. So they can identify home much money I spend in their store and online.

I never had any crime register on my name. This is first time happens it’s completely wrong, I understand only mistake I did I get out with jacket to check my car.

Please advice me what happen in my case. I am constantly thinking and waiting for their action.

Will I loose my job ? My family ? My career ?
