  • DRP parking tickets

Hello I'm looking for some help. My mother in law kindly did not pass a parking fine on and have recieved at letter at my new address saying I have to pay 170 pounds or they are taking me to court. This is excessive I called them and explained the situation and they just put me though to pay it. I thought that if tickets didnt come from the council you dont have to pay them but I'm not sure? Now they are calling me everyday and telling me to pay the fine. Do I have to pay it? Thanks for any advice.

It's not a fine, it's a speculative invoice. As you have found out ignore was not good advice. Neither was phoning them up. Did you identify the keeper? Yes or No only.

When you moved did you amend the V5 details for the car? If not do it now before you get a real fine.

As it's DRP (Debt Recovery Plus ?) then they are mere debt collectors and can be ignored. Have you got the original Notice to Keeper? If so post up a copy redacted of identifying details but leave dates

Do not hint at the identity of the driver
