  • UKCPS fine at University

We picked up our daughter from Lincoln Uni in July for end of year 1 clear out of accommodation. Her student approved accommodation (The Gateway) has parking on site that we were able to use when she 1st went there however is UKCPS owned. When we picked her up, no one was in the accommodation office to say we were there. The car was parked for 20 mins only to enable the loading of the boxes, cases etc; there is no other car park near by for this without continuous crossing of busy roads trying to carry everything. No other cars were in the car park. When leaving, our daughter handed in the keys as someone was there at that point and advised them where we had parked and for how long; they said if we get a notice to let them know. We did get a notice for £60 and advised The Gateway accomm who also said appeal to UKCPS. As of this date (31 Aug), UKCPS refuse to acknowledge the appeal and have increased the fine to £100 as we haven't yet paid. The accommodation has done precisely nothing although they do agree it is wrong. Please advise if we should take this further or just pay.

In addition, there are signs which we were aware of by the Uni, but have been advised by the Uni we can use the facility if they are advised (but see above re when we arrived). These signs are very small at the top of a pole and are not obvious.
