  • County Court Claim form

Can you please offer me some advice. My car was issue a “fine” for parking on private land. A doctors surgery car park. The car was parked on a very rainy dark night. A sign was displayed but missed due to the weather and poor light. The period of time parked was about 2 hours while the driver watched a film in the local cinema. The “offence” came to light around 2 weeks later when I received a letter saying I owed money for not paying for parking. I have been back and there is a sign but the only method of payment is over the phone. Rightly or wrongly I listened to advice and ignored all correspondence from the private parking company. I have no received a County Court claim form. What should I do?

Edit your post so that the identity of the driver cannot be inferred. Post up the PCN received, suitably redacted but leave dates. Photos of signs readable version and one taken at the same time after sunset as when the driver parked and without flash

Acknowledge the claim using the details and password on the form but put nothing in the defence, nothing. This gives you 33 days from date of issue to get your defence to court.

SAR to the parking company requesting all they hold about you

Letter to solicitor requesting all the documents that they intend to rely on in court in order to reduce the differences between you, as expected by the courts.

Thing is I never received a PCN only a letter sometime later informing me of the fine and that I had a certain amount of time to pay to get a reduction in the fine. I have only ever had letters from them none of which I kept.
