  • Work not completed to a satisfactory standard

    Hi there

I came across this website while looking for some advice.

Very briefly, we have new laminate flooring supplied and fitted by a local company on 2nd August but the finish is terrible. Beading is not cut straight and looks awful.

They sent a fitter out again yesterday and did rectify most of the issues but it still looks I've fitted it.

I do wonder if I am being picky but to me it looks awful.

I paid for this in full upon receipt of the companies invoice (before work was carried out) Paid by bank transfer.

The fitter doesn't think there is a problem with the work. I would be so grateful if I could get some advice. I would like them to rectify the work as we would like to get the decorators in... Ideally, we would have got the decorators in first but we had a flood and massive hole in the ceiling.

    Thanks
Gauge in laminate covered by single piece of beading poorly joined corner beading...

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 (CRA 2015) Chapter 4 SERVICES sec 49 requires "the trader must perform the service with reasonable care and skill".

Your rights are to have the work repeated, or to a price reduction.. (cf sec 54 - 56)
Suggest you have a read here initially http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/...ot-met/enacted

You might need to get a report from an independent flooring consultant.
