  • Single Justice Procedure Notice for NO TAX

Hi, I would like to ask for advice in my case. On 7th Dec 2018 my Citroen C1 parked on street in front of my house was clamped as. o tax was paid. Just to mention that tax for this vehicle was 0 pounds and old tax expired on 30th Sep 2018. Unfortunately I moved out from UK on 1st Sep so totally forgot about renewing tax for my car. on 7th Dec cat was clamped and this was noticed by my neighbour, after receiving call from him I log in to dvla and texed vehicle, also contacted clamping company and paid 100 pounds fine. Car was taxed from 7th and unclamped on 8th in the morning. Now after many months I get letter with single justice procedure asking me to pleade guilty or not? Why is that, i feel that already paid my penalty 100pounds for my mistake of not renewing 0 “zero” tax for my car? Please help!

The £100 was a release fee (paid to clamping co.)
You would normally then receive a Fixed Penalty Notice for £180 (£40 if paid within 28 days)
If unpaid a SJP notice lands on your doorstep.
