Hi,I bought a new car in 2017 & received a letter from car dealership asking what I want to do, either buy, upgrade or send back so have gone with the latter due to my financial situation. The letter was signed on 3rd June 2019, so a week later I contact the dealer as no one got in touch to start the process of sending my car back, so after me chasing I finally got an inspection on my car with the dealer on the 15th June 2019. I contacted the dealer again to speak with the person who is suppose to be dealing with me in bringing my car back is now on training and that no-one else can help me and then was told only 2 days ago that I still need to contact the finance company to see when my last payment is. On doing this the finance company has sent me now VT stating that I owe for the outstanding insurance and VT costs which amount to just over £500. I can not afford this and thought that now I have paid more than 50% of the car in what I owe I could just bring it back and relunctant to sign the VT paperwork as had an inpsection by the car dealer and they did state in their letter from the car dealer that they would sort all this out for me to bring my car back and t=no I will have another payment to make at the end of this month which I was trying to avoid. Please help cheers

I'm not quite clear what your current situation is.

At the beginning you say that you were offered to buy, upgrade or send back and then then you go on to talk about signing a letter and then after that you talk about VT. I'm going to assume you meant that you exercised your VT rights but clarification would be helpful.

Who is the finance company and have they given you a break down of these costs? If not, go back to them and ask for itemisation as you can't possibly be expected to pay for something that you don't know about.

To be clear, once you exercised your VT right, that's it. You don't get a second chance to change your mind.
