4 years ago I followed guidance on how to leave 3 mobile. The reason being that I had hear it was a difficult company to leave.I had waited for my contract to finish and a month prior I wrote and posted a standard letter that I had got of the internet to end my contract. My last payment was higher at the end of the month. I also moved a lot during that time but I had not heard back anything for a month and certainly could have not owed them anything. I was on a £10 month with internet contract and hardly used my phone anyway.
Lowell not saying why I owe money. In response I again pulled a standard letter of the internet dealing with companies Lowells. I have sent this quoting several legal rights I have and I am aware of including Consumer Law.
Anyway, since then I went to Citizens Advice who I must say were very unhelpful in a way as they almost said I should just pay up.
It is only £46.18 but I am not going to pay something I do not owe. Citizen Advice asked me if I had the original letter and I didn't know I had it but luck would have it I have found this amongst my emails. This undeniably proves the year the date and everything as all emails listings are by date. This is the actual letter I had sent to 3 mobile with stating my start of contract and the ending of it and the date of sending a month prior to this date.
According to Citizens Advice (we also rang up Lowells) they can take me to court and I may end up paying the court fee that could be as much as £500.
I want to know if it is a good idea to ask them to detail the bill of the money owed. Citizens Advice said Lowells will not provide that information!?
What rights do I have? What can I do? What would be the best to do? I am certain I do not owe any money!
I also have proof I joined another mobile provider and used their network ever since and pay my bills.
Any thoughts/ advice would be appreciated.
