I want to issue a claim against HSBC for misselling a life insurance policy. Although this mis-sale was over 20 years ago, I only discovered it a few months ago and complained to the bank. There was clearly deception involved on their part however they have dismissed it out of hand. HSBC issued a completely separate claim against me in 2006 for a greater amount of money which was eventually struck out of court in 2010. Is there any way they could issue a counter claim against my claim and make it stick, especially as the mis-sale of my current claim pre-dates their historic claim against me and was for twice the amount of money. I am afraid that I could end up owing them money. Any advice on this would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
