My rights when making a claim on plumbing insurance

If i am not happy with an insurance company that insures my plumbing, but have receltly jmade a claim, if i want to cancel the policy, are thay still liable for the claim or does their liability stop once i cancle the policy- even if the work they have done has not fixed the problem (which i wont know until 3-4 month down the line) thnaks

If you have made a claim the company will require the full annual premium anyway, so why cancel?
