Hello I wonder if you could help, I received a letter from moriarty law to say I owed a debt to first utility from an old address in 2014 now I don't recall owing this debt as we switched to a different utility company whilst we lived there at that time, I have never received a letter regarding this before now and we haven't lived at that address since 2018 so I replied via email with a prove it letter and didn't acknowledge I owed this debt, they have responded to me today to say that if I wanted the original bills I had to ask their client first utility by calling them directly so they would put proceedings on hold until I have rang them for the original documents, so I was a little confused as if they were acting on there behalf why would they not already have all these documents and why would it be down to me to chase. Any advice on what to do next would be greatly received. Thanks.
