Morning,
Hoping someone here can help.
In 2015, as a sole trader, I rented a light industrial unit. I received a phone call offering to change utility supplier, better rates etc, which I did.
A year later, Meter Plus turned up and said they were changing my meter due to non payment, then looked at the meter and left, saying they couldn't change it as it was the wrong type. No idea on any more than that on that bit or why exactly the meter was the wrong type. Anyway, it turned out the phone call had been a scam and I heard nothing more.
Fast forward to December and I receive an email from Themis Recoveries on behalf of EDF looking for information on who rented units 2-4. I stated that I rented unit 2.
Yesterday, I received an email from Judge and Preistly as below:
Dear Sirs,
We have been asked to contact you on behalf of EDF Energy. A letter was posted to you on 15th March 2019, but we are yet to receive a reply.
Please contact Judge & Priestley on 020 3869 8537 quoting your reference number ******. When calling you will be asked to complete our security questions to verify your identity.

Now, the 15th March was Friday, yesterday only 3 days later, so no wonder they hadn't received a reply, I haven't received the letter yet!
Need some advice on how to respond if anyone can help? I'm aware of the backbilling regulations Do these apply where they have the units wrong (I rented unit 2, yet they were trying to bill for units 2-4)? Themis stated it was around £3,800 for a 12 month bill which seems hugely excessive with it.being a 9m by 8m unit
