  • Caught shoplifting on camera and they have me 7 times leaving with things in my bag

hi I was addicted to drink as in alcohol and used to sneak a bottle in my bag in my basket as I shopped and went through self service without trace till one day I got stopped and police got called and they then have videos of me 7 other times with me walking out with a bottle , what do you think will happen

    Hi and welcome

What did the police say to you ?
I would guess that you will be invited to the police station for an interview.
If this does happen only go with a solicitor.
If you do not have your own solicitor, ask for the duty solicitor to be present.
This is your right and is free.
(S)he will ensure your rights aren't breached and you do not unnecessarily incriminate yourself.
The presence of CCTV may not be sufficient evidence to prosecute you

You will also probably receive an invitation to pay an extortionate amount to a civil recovery firm. but tat can be ignored.

It could well be that they do not have sufficient proof of theft, so be careful of how you answer police questions and make sure you are accompanied by that solicitor
