Hmrc tax tribunal decision first-tier tribunal ( tax chamber )

I attended for the tribunal hearing on the 21st March 2018 and was told a decision would be made within a few weeks and I would be notified in writing of the decision. 7 months later ( email received 22nd October 2018) I received only a email confirming the decision and no written correspondence is this within legal requirements ? What should I do next ?
