Hello and thank you for giving me a place to drop my issue for possible advice. I purchased a 2 year old car with 10,000 miles on it as I was fed up with repairing unreliable cars before. This vehicle has had all sorts of problems. Turbo needs refurbishment, air hoses cracked and needed replacements, and now there is a total electrical failure as if no battery is even connected. I want rid of this thing. I have had quite enough of it. I have been looking into a voluntary termination but am unsure if I can as the vehicle is not in perfect condition besides reasonable wear and tear. aAny advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

If you VT then you are potentially liable for damages if you have failed to exercise your general duty to take reasonable care of the vehicle. This duty doesnt mean you have to keep the car pristine, it means you have to take reasonable care of it, keep it clear and maintained, but general wear and tear will not be taken into account when considering reasonable care, thats my view at least.
So whether you would be liable to the finance house depends on whether you have taken reasonable care of the vehicleI work for Roach Pittis Solicitors.
