  • Merc Benz VT and excess mileage charges

Hi all - new to forum. Merc Benz VT and excess mileage. Used a template advised on here to challenge this but the reply states the provisions of the consumer credit act that cover a customers right to Voluntary Terminate their agreement do permit us to include any over mileage when determining what is 'not reasonable' and we can charge for any mileage over the contracted mileage adjusted for the time you had use of the vehicle. Also state that I would have verbally agreed to the mileage per annum and signed accordingly. As an aside, this was not discussed with me when I tool out the PCP agreement and the annual mileage is hidden on the agreement under the small print named 'default charges'.

If you read the other threads about VT you will find some very good arguments about why you should NOT pay. As I understand it when you VT the legislation states that you are only liable for the 50% and nothing else. If you wen to the end of the agreement then you would, of course be liable for the excess mileage.
