Hi, I have just joined this site as I'm desperate for some legal advice. I've never been on a forum before so please accept my apologies if I do anything wrong, & i welcome any advice on the correct procedure of doing things.

I would like to know whether it's possible to get a Charging Order written off. It was put on my house in 2001 & was due to a debt my ex husband had. No payments have been made towards it. It is preventing me from sorting out my interest only mortgage as the term has expired & i need to find an option that enables me to stay in my home. Having looked into 'Lifetime Mortgages', I've found that the charge means I do not qualify for it as the amount in question is too high. Therefore, if I can get it written off, I would have a better chance of securing my future.
