  • Bailiff company issues

Hi, Just wondering what to do about a bailiff company? DCBL of the "Can't pay take it away programmes" We obtained a court order for our tenant who had refused to pay rent and damaged the house. DCBL charged us £66.00 to escalate it to the high court and then only visited three times to the tenant who refused to open the door and they have now closed the case. We now have to pay another £90.00 to them. How can this be fair?

It is correct. you should have read the small print - I imagine they failed to draw this to your attention. I gather your Judgment was quite substantial and if your tenant is working then an Attachment of Earnings may have been a better bet - it will cost you approx £100 to do this. Please remember just because you have Judgment does not guarantee you will ever get paid.
