  • House Insurance - Swinton

    Good afternoon All,

As you can see I am very new here and trying to rebuild my credit history and finally resolve my financial problems so more posts will be coming through it seems I am reaching the end of a tunnel and need some guidance of various issues if you can help.

The first one is I have not renewed my house insurance and emailed the company to advise them I will not be rolling over to a new contract, I struggle to call through the day. I don't have much time from my desk in order to wait on hold and advise of the cancellation. The price has gone through the roof this year with no claims again so terminated this via email. I have also cancelled my direct debit and tried to phone tonight once again and again closed. Tonight I have received a letter advising me I need to call to resolve the issue of my direct debit threatening me with if they have to cancel the new policy then I am liable to pay the full balance and if I do not pay then Could receive a Stat default notice.

Am I right in thinking i can simply advise them I have not agreed to renew and this will be the end of this ?

    Many thanks
    LGM

      Hi and welcome.
More questions and answers first please
      1) expiry date of policy
      2) exact date you were advised of increased premium for renewal
3)date you emailed Swintons of non renewal
