  • End of 37 months PCP, which route to take?

My PCP of 37 months is coming to an end in November. I have called the finance company and they advised me that I can terminate the agreement at any point. I am really confused how I should proceed, to start the process now which will be Voluntary termination or wait up to the very end? Is there a difference? I have 4000 miles excess and few scratches on a car, and alloy wheels. Any advice would be welcome! Also they have mentioned collection fee of £150.

    Hello

If you do not intend on purchasing the car at the end of the hire period and simply return it, then you will be liable for the excess mileage, the scratches if beyond reasonable wear and tear and also the collection fee of £150.

Voluntary termination limits your liability meaning your not liable for those breaches of contractual clauses because liability is capped at 50%. To VT you need to give notice of termination before the final payment becomes due, after which, you lose the right.
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you

      Thank you for your reply.
I contacted the Finance company to find out what is the total amount payable (to qualify for the VT). The advisor informed me that it is the amount we borrowed from them, which is around £30000.
If that is correct it is impossible to ever pay over 50% as after 36 months I only paid around £12000 (with only one month to go)
The car costs £38000 and I have contributed £7000 deposit initially. Is the advisor deliberately trying to confuse me or this contract is set up in the way that I can never exercise my VT right. Any help with this is highly appreciated.
