Dubai Debt.

Hi there,

I had to leave Dubai in 2011 as a result of losing two jobs in a row due to the 'financial crash'; not something I'm proud of but at the time I didn't feel I had much choice.
I left owing money to a couple of banks, loans and credit cards.
I have now started receiving letters and more recently calls from a company called International Debt Recovery demanding repayment.
The wording of the letters is fairly ambiguous so I'd like to know how I stand regarding any debts I may have from the UAE.
Can anyone help me please?

The banks in principle have a right to resort to means including that of appointing external debt collection agency's to recover their debts. This ain,t something to worry about; the only downside being that they will keep following up at times unpredictable. Are you aware of any case filings in the UAE?
