  • voluntary termination

hi i need some advice on this as 2 years i gave my car back i didn't sign anything it was verbal over the phone so they collected the vehicle in 2016 and i didn't hear a thing until now ,
they want X amounts of money ,can they request this after such a long period of time and also what are my rights yes i gave the car back but if i would of known or understood about this VT then i could of had a final figure 2 years ago and probably would of paid some of the debt back .
so i have raised a complaint over this and ask them to look at the lowest amount i could of offered them over the 2 years and take off debt then ill make them an offer of repayment as they are at fault for not getting in touch with me over this .
i am just at a loss of what to do as its a large amount of money they are requesting .
    do i go bankrupt ?
do i offer a repayment that suits me as i not in work and that was the reason i gave the car back as i lost my job .

So did you do a Voluntary Termination of the contract or did you just hand the car back?

If the latter then, yes, you are liable for any loss that the company have made on the contract, including the loss when they sold the car and the remaining sums due on the finance agreement
