Hi can anybody help? Bank of Scotland now Halifax put a charging order on the house in February 2009 following a court hearing in January 2009.Payments of £10.00 a month were made to Halifax from this date until March 2018.The house has been sold now and we are trying to pay off the order in full but Halifax are claiming that they have sold the debt to Link Financial and can not accept payment. A recent copy of the Property Register show the Restriction as Bank of Scotland and does not show Link at all. Also if the debt was sold why did Halifax cash the cheque payments sent to them and not mention having sold the debt. Any help would be appreciated as not sure what to do next.
