I am one of 4 beneficiaries to an estate. The property has been on the market for a year and we are unhappy with the estate agent's marketing, photos, service etc. The executors - a firm of solicitors are refusing us, the beneficiaries, access to view the property to check its state and marketability. All 4 beneficiaries are in agreement re the course of action needed and keen to achieve a speedy but best possible sale. If we want to appoint a new estate agent or have cleaners come in the solicitors will charge us their hourly rate to be at the property as they are saying that we cannot fulfill this role. Please advise if this is reasonable and lawful? Also can we require the executors to release the remainder of the estate funds or does this have to wait until the flat has sold?
