  • Parking PNC Hire Car Reg

    I had a hire car after an accident received a notification from them that i have had a PNC From civil enforcement ltd and my details have been passed on. So soon i will receive a PNC from Civil Enforcement Problem was that i entered my own cars reg instead of the Hire cars reg. I there anything i can do? ( my hire car company have already charged £35 Admin fee for the pleasure of telling me this. Yours D j Arnold

    First thing is to edit your post so that the identity of the driver cannot be inferred. Use "The driver.........." etc. This is most important.


    With the PCN did you also receive a copy of the rental agreement and the original PCN? Probably not. They cannot, therefore, hold the keeper/hirer liable for the actions of the driver, who they do not know, at the time of the alleged breach. Have a look at POFA,, section 14 specifically applies to you, and in particular 14 (2) (a). Confirm this and yu can send a BOGOFF response, not that it will stop CEL.

    For the £35 look at the hire contract you have. What does it say about paying fines and penalties? The PCN is neither of these and only an invoice. If the contract makes no mention of parking invoices then they have incorrectly claimed the money from you as it is not in their contract.
