I live in a lodge overlooking a lake, it is beautiful. There are approx 500 homes based here, mostly lodges and of different sizes. This is a residential site, we own our homes/decking outright, and rent the ground and garden area. Many of the lodge owners have constructed canopies/porches or similar over the front entrance of their lodge without consulting the management company. My husband and I thought we would do the right thing and ask if if would be okay for us to build a small conservatory to the front of our lodge, in keeping with the colour scheme etc. Originally we were told yes , a few hours later I received a telephone call to say, no you can't have it built. I asked to know the reason why and I would like a letter of explanation. Nothing has been forthcoming. We are of senior years the owner of the site is very intimidating and we don't want " to rock the boat " as rumour has it he threatens people with eviction if one steps out of line so to speak. I don't know how we stand legally, we have not found any reference to this issue in our agreement or park rules

It may help if you could post up any contracts or rules that you have, suitably redacted with your names, site names etc.Sorry i'm just thinking out loud, it might be irrelevant, I am not employed in anyway in the legal profession, please ensure you research any advice I give before using it I have been known to be wrong on multiple occasions.

But if in the agreement it says that you must seek the owners approval before any 'extensions' are built & they have said No, I'm not sure what you can do, other than point out that others have extended the property & you feel it is unfair to not let you.Sorry i'm just thinking out loud, it might be irrelevant, I am not employed in anyway in the legal profession, please ensure you research any advice I give before using it I have been known to be wrong on multiple occasions.
