Discharged mortgage

Hi I hope someone can help..I am currently staying in a caravan because my house purchase could not take place because at the last minute the solicitor said that one of the mortgages on the land registry had not been discharged. It's a Woolwich mortgage dating back to 1989. The sellers solicitor said they would arrange for Barclays Bank to look into it but it will take 10 to 15 working days..obviously that is too long for me to be paying for storage and accommodation with money I don't have. I am planning to phone Barclays tomorrow to see if they can expedite the matter but wondered if anyone could give me any helpful advice to get to exchange quickly. Many thanks.

Ask your solicitor/conveyancer about the possibility of arranging an indemnity insurance
