    hi
I have received a county court business centre claim dated 29/518 asking for payment of parking fine due to being the registered keeper.
I have not received any previous letters or notifications from a company called Parkingeye Ltd and are completely surprised and unsure what to do as they are asking for a £100 claim plus £25 court fee plus £50 legal fee a total of £175.

Your advice would be greatly appreciated

Do the particulars of claim mention the registration number and is it known to you?

did you receive a letter before claim?

write to them pointing out this the first time you have heard from them and demand copies of all documents which they intend to rely on in court. Can you type in the details of the POC.

first action though is to acknowledge the claim using details and password on the form. Do not put anything in the defence! This gives you 33 days from date of issue to get a defence to the court

They mention the vehicle registration number and that I am the registered keeper.

Do do I write to Parkingeye directly or to the county court business centre as never been in this situation before and paperwork is confusing and I know nothing about the parking issue?

They state a parking area in Oldbury which I am not familiar with. I have looked online to see where it is and the information on the website states free parking!

You write to parking eye directly to get the documents. They do not employ a solicitor. Can you type out the details of the POC, omitting the reg no.

            Thanks for getting back
            the POC states:
claim for monies outstanding from the defendant,as registered keeper, in relation to a Parking Charge, issued on 24/1/18, for parking on private land in breach of the terms and conditions (the contract).
ParkingEye’s automated number plate recognition system, monitoring Oldbury Green Retail Park, Oldbury,B69 3DD, captured vehicle xxxxxxx entering and leaving the car park, overstaying the max stay time. The signage, clearly displayed at the entrance to and throughout the car park, states that this is private land, is managed by ParkingEye Ltd, and is a max stay site, along with other T+C’s by which those who park on site agree to be bound. In accordance with the T+C’s set out in the signage, the Parking Charge became payable. Notice under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 has been given under Sch 4, making the keeper liable. This claim is in reference to Parking Charge(s) xxxxxx/xxxxx

here's the location, do you recognise it? If you do could you have been to one of the shops? If so then hassle the shop to get it cancelled.

It is a 3 hours max stay car park, could anyone have visited twice in the same day? I did notice that a visit to Carphone Warehouse will not pass any signs that could create a contract, there is an empty post.

See what PE come back with. Have you moved house recently?
