    hello all and can i say how this site has resolved so many of my queries.
    A new one for today.: Crankshaft failure on a PPI agreement vehicle 4x4 60k aprox miles, manfacture dont want to know as they atate outsiide of 4yr warrenty Where do i stand and i'm at my 50% point in the agreement??? dont know where to turn?

    Hello and welcome.

    What make, model and year?
    Do you know why the crank failed?
    Was it due to external failure, for example wrong fitting of the oil filter, turbo seals, injector failure, breaking of cambelt tensioner?

    I think your best hope is to identify why it failed.
    If it was due to a failure by a mechanic, you could possibly make a recovery from them
    If it was due to an inbuilt fault, the vehicle might be classed as unsatisfactory and then there is the possibility of a claim against the seller/finance house, although that won't be easy.
