Hi - advice please - in 2016 had an accident a solicitor cold called me after my accident and offered me a win no fee basis on claiming for a neck injury - I foolishly agreed to undertake a medical as requested and as far as am aware hadn’t heard from them since till this week - they have billed me for over £2000 for their expenses and have sent a copy of a conditional fee agreement letter which has my signature on which I do not remember signing. They have given me two weeks to pay but will give. a discount if I pay early ,,,,.? This was over two years and have no correspondence from them and no phone calls and had completely forgotten about it till now the case with insurers has been closed and I was found to be at fault ...please help ,,,!!!

Without knowing the full facts (ie what were you told about the CFA etc and what you told the claims people about your accident) it will be difficult to give any advice.
However if you make a complaint to the firm concerned (who will dismiss it!) you can then complain to the legal ombudsman.
Here's a link to their site, with one or two examples .http://www.legalombudsman.org.uk/pub...no-win-no-fee/
I think the first might be appropriate, and I would recommend you also read the report they link to

There are many insurers that have agreements with lawyers and it is possible that they have scammed you...
Something similar happened to me, the lawyer did not ask me for money, but he told me that in the end we were not going to collect anything from the accident, a little weird ...It's better not to trust the lawyers who call you that and leave it in the hands of a trusted lawyer... Since then I have my trusted lawyer in Spain
